Experience The TV Set Live!
Death in Paradise is a British-French crime and comedy drama television series filmed on the French Caribbean island of Guadeloupe. Join your guide on The Death In Paradise TV Series Tour and discover the north part of Basse-Terre. Quietly nestled between mountains and sea, the adorable postcard village of Deshaies casts a spell over visitors with its authentic charm. A most photogenic setting, with its typical Creole houses and pretty little church, which is best admired from the picturesque fishing port.
The Guadeloupe tour takes you to some of the film locations on the fictional St Marie: The police station, Catherine’s Bar where so many episodes conclude, the botanical garden, where (spoiler alert!) actor Ben Miller, met his death at the end of series two, and DI Humphrey’s beach house, on a truly lovely stretch of palm‑backed sand, Anse la Perle.
You get a chance to learn about our traditions and heritage as your guide gives you some insight on our island history through the centuries, from the time of the Native Amerindians, until the French colonization. The tour ends with a visit to the Botanical Garden in Deshaies, famous for having been the property of the comedian Coluche, this estate of seven hectares, is now an exceptional flower and animal park, and a listed Remarkable Garden. A real festival of colour and a celebration of West Indian flora, with orchids, bougainvillea, hibiscus, heliconias, and torch ginger.
